The Mountain Kingdom!

Eduard Imhof (25 January 1895 – 27 April 1986) was a professor of cartography at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich, but his real claim to fame stems from his relief shading work on school maps and atlases. He drew and shaded maps of Switzerland, as well as the various cantons, and the Austrian province of Vorarlberg.

Look at one of his beautiful master pieces below:

John Nelson, of ESRI, did a tutorial on how one can create this wonderful Imhof style in ArcGIS Pro - which allows one to use this amazing palette on any relief across the globe!

I recommended you check out his YouTube channel for more!

And if you would like a shortcut - here is an ArcGIS Pro styles ready for download

Anyway, I followed the tutorials and created an Imhof styled map for the mountain kingdom of Lesotho! Near to where I was born, this rugged, mountainous area looks great in the Imhof Style in my opinion.
