Dropping shadows

Using picture markers, you are able to symbolise your points with whatever you want! It’s fantastic. In the map below, I mapped out wind turbine stations across Switzerland, using a wind turbine symbol. I then duplicated the wind turbine symbol in the structure, brought the transparency down, and changed the colour to a slight grey. Then I rotated it under the rotation drop down, and changed it position in the offset distance tab, so that the shadow ran from the base of the above wind turbine symbol. And that’s how you give your symbols a shadow effect.
